Description
Marketing Management focuses on the delivery of value and benefits to consumers. It
uses communication, distribution and pricing strategies to deliver goods, services,
ideas and benefits to consumers when and where they want it. It involves building
long-term, mutually rewarding relationships. To be successful, marketers must constantly
adapt their offerings to changes in the external environment.
Workplace Learning
This qualification requires a compulsory experimental learning or in-service training component
of 18 months in marketing related tasks. Workplace Learning provides important opportunities for
professional and personal growth. It addresses specific competencies identified for the acquisition
of the qualification, which relates to the development of skills that will make the student employable
and will assist in developing his or her personal skills. A training logbook is provided by the college
as guide line for the training on what the training should cover.
Entry Requirement
Learners who want to do this course must have completed the National Senior Certificate
or Senior Certificate or any other qualification of that equivalence. Foreign learners
are required to submit their higher qualification to SAQA to determine their level of entry.
Assessments
There are 2 (two) forms of assessments required for this qualification that must be done at
each of the qualification levels. The Internal Continuous assessments (1 Test, 1 assignment
and 1 internal exam) that are conducted by the college and then the Final external examination
which is set, monitored and facilitated by the Department of higher education and Training.
You will only be able to register to write the external examination if you pass your formative
assessment component which the College will use to generate a term mark for each of your subjects
as required by the Department of higher education and Training
Certification
All learning material will be provided by the college and it will remain a property of the
college throughout the duration of the level for the material is provide for.
Accreditation and Duration
3 Years (Divided into 2 components)
18 Months of the theoretical component (N4, N5 and N6)
This course is accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupation (QCTO) as the quality assurer and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as the assessment body.
18 Months of practical in-service training
